Herring at and Upstream of Armstrong Dam Removal Site

Hi Dan and Marilyn,

Give nature a little and it will thrive. The river is freed! After 200 years of blockage the Monatiquot River Restoration Project has been complete and nature bounced back better than anticipated. This spring river herring made their journey back to headwater spawning habitats for the first time in over 200 years. And past few weeks baby fish have been spotted from the spawn. Access to the river for people has also been restored with the opening of an accessible walking trail and boardwalk. People are connected back with nature and nature is healing itself beautifully

A young calf visited our wildlife sanctuary and Marilyn captured it on video.

Incubating the Squash

Incubator with squash sprout started from seed.

Juice containers work great helping to warm the seedlings, keep them moist, and keeps the critters from nibbling them.

Just loosely put them over the plant and when they start to fill the space they are ready to be set free.

The Wilds

The turkeys are back. In the video below you see the reason for such strutting.

In the last few years there has been an increase of Turkeys at our Sanctuary. We have seen some baby chicks that disappear one by one. Could it be there are so few places left for them to hide?
