Today is March 18th. It's Dan's Birthday.

Dan wouldn't want to see us sad.  Remember his song "A Smile in your Heart" He'd want to see us do that when we think of him.  He would be happy to see us continue to fight for the environment and that's what I'm going to try to do. I hope all Dan's friends will join me living as environmentally friendly as we can.

It's been a long time since anything has been posted.  Dan made his last post in August 2025.

Dan did most of the posts. I will be continuing to make posts. This blog is Dan and Marilyn's. I will be talking about our Wildlife Sanctuary. We started it together and it will be continuing.

Herring at and Upstream of Armstrong Dam Removal Site

Hi Dan and Marilyn,

Give nature a little and it will thrive. The river is freed! After 200 years of blockage the Monatiquot River Restoration Project has been complete and nature bounced back better than anticipated. This spring river herring made their journey back to headwater spawning habitats for the first time in over 200 years. And past few weeks baby fish have been spotted from the spawn. Access to the river for people has also been restored with the opening of an accessible walking trail and boardwalk. People are connected back with nature and nature is healing itself beautifully
